Happy new year! Long update alert...

For many, the Christmas and New Year period is a time to switch off and relax - but not for the staff of Team RKPS! Many of our runners remained fully committed to their training over the holiday period, gradually upping their mileages whilst burning off the mince pies and turkey! What's more, with 2024 now in full swing, the half marathon is now only a matter of weeks away (5 to be exact) - Sunday 11th February will be here before we know it.

Ms Salter and Ms Lee joined our regular weekly runners on the final Tuesday before Christmas for a festive jog, complete with lights and hats!

Once the holidays were underway, Mr Paice clocked up a 10-miler around Wymondham and shared the route with staff to try out if they wished:

Mrs Palmer went for a 5k run on Christmas Day itself, as well as an amazing 15k run a few days later and even received a massage gun for Christmas to help with her recovery:

Miss Bradley and her partner completed 5 miles non-stop, a fantastic effort especially after a sore hip!

Mr Higgins and Ms Salter teamed up for a New Year's Eve-Eve-Eve morning plod, which was a little muddy but included a little deer spotting!

Mrs Rees and Mrs Warner have been getting out for regular Sunday long runs, regularly clocking up 9-10 miles:

Mrs Pope and Mrs Palmer also went to a specialist running shop in Taverham to get their gaits analysed and both got themselves some lovely new running shoes.

Mrs Beresford has been working on her personal best and recently knocked out a cool 5k, as well as getting some body pump classes in!

Mr Brown aimed to complete a parkrun while on holiday, but a cancellation due to inclement weather and a spot of illness quickly put paid to that!

Mrs Lubbock completed an incredible 9.4 miles on a run between Wymondham and Hethersett, and Mrs Stimpson joined Mr Higgins and Mrs Rees at the end of the first day back at school for a gentle run around Wymondham itself.

As the new term begins and life begins to pick up again, keeping focused on our training is becoming ever more important. Do continue to encourage us if you see us out and about, and don't forget to pop a donation on our Just Giving page if you haven't already!
